William Laverne "Bill" Bone, 60, of 1608 3rd Ave, Opelika, Lee County, AL, passed away on 5 Mar 1990 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Burial was at Garden Hills Cemetery, Opelika, Lee County, AL.

William Laverne Bone was born 16 Mar 1929 in Alabama to the late Oscar Thomas Bone and Janie Lou Bailey Bone. He was a US Air Force Veteran; as a Sergeant he served a tour of duty in Korea. He attended Opelika Vo-Tech and studied Business, Accounting and Textiles. Bill worked in Textiles and as an Alabama Highway Department Technician. He had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Auburn First Assembly of God Church. He married the love of his life, Shirley Lamyrl Nabors on 17 Jun 1967. Mr. Bone will always and forever be loved and remembered as the great family man that he was.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his step-mother, Thelma Estelle Sanders Bone and two half-siblings, Infant Son Bone and Eugene Russell Bone.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lamyrl Nabors Bone; son, Christopher Russell Bone; step-daughter, Jan; step-granddaughters, Kristin and Rachael; siblings, Ethel Mae Phillips, Mary Magdalene Powell, Gracie Cora Wooddy and Arthur Edgar Bone; and half-sibling, Louis Franklin Bone; and many nieces and nephews.
