     Harold DeLoss McCurdy, 60, of Vernal died Jan. 15, 1983 at the V.A.Hospital in Salt Lake City.

     He was born in Vernal, a son of William and Martha Hicks McCurdy. He married Alberta Jones, they later divorced.

     He was a sheepherder, veteran of World War II, and member of the LDS Church.

     Survivors are two sons, Gary McCurdy of Oregon and David McCurdy of Richfield; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean Clark of St. George and Bonna McCurdy of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Stella Wooley of Rifle, Colo.; Mrs. Vern (Nial) Richens, Mont., McCurdy. Deloy McCurdy and Mrs. Martha Rolon, all of Vernal.

      Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the Vernal Mortuary. Neldon R. Slaugh was in charge.

      Grant Richens gave the invocation and Bishop Neldon Slaugh gave some remarks. Wayne Hall sang, "The Great Speckled Bird" and "The Flower the Sunset and the Trees." Bishop Don Gardiner spoke. Merlin Richens gave the benediction.

      Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park with military honors. Pallbearers were Vern B. Richens, Grand Richens, Merlin Richens, Deloy McCurdy, Willie McCurdy and Nephi Atwood.
