Evelyn S. Bartels, 89, formerly of Vineland, passed away peacefully at The Shores of Wesley Manor on Monday, August 4, 2014.
Born in Columbia, Missouri, Mrs. Bartels had lived in this area since 1952.
She was a homemaker. In her younger years Mrs. Bartels was very active with the Brownies, Girl Scouts and the PTA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing and completing crossword puzzles and other word games. She also was a sports fan, rooting for the Phillies and 76'ers. Mrs. Bartels, with her husband, George were great fans of the Missouri/Nebraska football rivalry, having attended the game for over 30 consecutive years. She also enjoyed her family vacations to Disney World in Florida.
She is survived by her beloved husband: George H. Jr; son: David (Candy), daughter: Carol Green (Richard): 4 grandchildren: Stephanie, Beth (Josh), Bob (Stacy) and Matt (Jaime); 6 great-grandchildren, Owen, Trinity, Carter, Cooper, Kyler and Kynsley; niece: Lisa Tracy.
Funeral services will be held in the First Presbyterian Church, where friends may call in the church. Officiating will be Chaplain Beth Mallozzi. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
