John H. Teuscher, 88, died July 12, 1993, at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 7, 1905, in Geneva, the second of nine children born to Henry and Mary Aegler Teuscher. He attended school in Geneva and at the Fielding Academy and high school in Paris.

He married Gertrude F. Lewis Jan. 5, 1927, in the Salt lake City LDS Temple. She died Feb. 25, 1985.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions, very active in civic clubs, was a member of the Lions Club for 35 years, chamber of commerce and Rotary Club. He served as a Montpelier City Councilman for six years.

He was employed with Theil and Olsen Brothers Store, then he and his wife bought a grocery store, which he operated in Montpelier.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, Lewis and Glenda Teuscher, Norinne and Blaine Kunz, and Doris and Keith Hymas, all of Montpelier; 15 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one brother, Homer Teuscher, Geneva; and three sisters, Lily Stephens, Grace Wilcox and Inez Zeller, all of Montpelier. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Lyman, and two sisters, Barbara and Aurelia, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held July 15, in Montpelier First Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
