MONTPELIER - Lily Rose Teuscher Stephens, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2000, at her home in Montpelier.
She was born on Dec. 25, 1909, in Geneva, Idaho, to Henry and Mary Aegler Teuscher Jr.
She married Earl E. Stephens on June 6, 1934, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
She attended schools in Geneva and Montpelier, and she worked for the Hall Ranch and for the Cruikshank family as a cook and nanny, and later she worked as a clerk at Brown's Photo. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a Primary teacher, Relief Society counselor, president, stake secretary, and visiting teacher, Young Women's counselor and ward librarian. She loved to dance, garden, knit, crochet and cook.
Lil is survived by her husband, Earl, of Montpelier; one son, E. Reed (Keary) Stephens of Heber City, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Karen (Paul) Cox of Pocatello, Idaho and Mrs. Nancy (Neil) Dimick of Laguna Hills, California; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Inez Zeller of Montpelier; one brother, Homer (Ruth) Teuscher of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lyman, John and Ivan; three sisters, Barbara, Aurelia and Grace; a granddaughter, Heidi; and a daughter-in-law, Karen.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m. in the Montpelier Stake Center. Friends may call at Matthews Mortuary on Wednesday evening, May 10, from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Thursday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
