Gertrude Frances Lewis Teuscher, 79, died Monday, February 25 in Logan Regional Hospital.

She was born August 9, 1905 at Montpelier, Idaho to David A. Lewis and Grace Bridges. She married John H. Teuscher on January 5, 1927 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She graduated from Montpelier High School and attended one year of college at Albion State Normal School and throughout her life she continued her education by taking classes at Utah State University. She taught in Bear Lake County schools for 55 years and was also a principal and substitute teacher. She also helped her husband in their grocery store for twenty-seven years.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many ward and stake positions. She has also been active in civic organizations. She enjoyed golfing, knitting and people.

Survivors include her husband of Montpelier; one son, Lewis J. Teuscher of Montpelier; two daughters, Mrs. Blaine (Norinne) Kunz of Montpelier and Mrs. Keith (Doris) Hymas of Montpelier; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Ariel (Flora) Thomas, Montpelier, Mrs. Norma Savage of St. George, Mrs. Bernice Taylor of Salt Lake City, Mrs. T. Emory (Kathryn) Mumford of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Ramona Parr of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by one sister and one grandson.

Funeral will be held Thursday, February 28 at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier Stake Center. The viewing was held Wednesday evening for 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
