Adelaide Hendrene De Jong, sixty, of Hull, Iowa, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1993, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, Iowa.

Born January 9, 1933 in Maurice, Iowa, she was the daughter of Arie and Alyda (Vander Brake) Punt. Adelaide graduated in 1951 from the Sioux Center High School.

On April 2, 1954 she and Arnold G. De Jong married in Carmel, Iowa. Mrs. De Jong worked as a cook for the Boyden-Hull Community Schools in the Hull kitchen. Adelaide was a member of First Reformed Church in Hull. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading.

Survivors include: her husband, Arnold; three sons, Arlin, Mark and Larrell; two brothers, Willard and Roger; three sisters, Arlene, Hendrene and Margaret; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the First Reformed Church in Hull. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Hull, under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center.

Mrs. De Jong was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Maurice, the daughter of Arie and Alyda (VanderBrake) Punt She graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1951.

On April 2, 1954 she married Arnold G. De Jong in Carmel. She worked as a cook for the Boyden-Hull Community Schools in the Hull kitchen.

Mrs. De Jong was a member of First Reformed Church of Hull.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives, Arlin and Monica of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mark and Deana of Ottumwa andLarrell and Jody of Ames; two brothers, Willard Punt of Sheldon and Roger Punt of Sully, three sisters, Arlene Boscaljon of Sanborn, Hendrene Kats of Rock Valley and Margaret Kooistra of Sioux Center, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in.death by her parents.
