Dan attended Los Alamos High School and graduated in 1965. In sports, he participated in basketball, soccer, and tennis, lettering in all four years. He was All State Choir and was a master chess player; the latter becoming a life's passion. He briefly attended the University of New Mexico. Most of his adult life was spent in the Las Vegas, New Mexico area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dolores "Dolly" Susco, and nephew Aryeh "Cody" Sherr. Surviving him were sisters Christine Susco and one in Santa Fe, and a brother in California.
Funeral services were held on 15 Feb 2007 at the Los Alamos United Methodist Church.
