My great grand Aunt Lucy Ann was born January 19 1880 in Williamsport Pennsylvania to Benjamin F. and Sally Pernisa McKnight,Her given name is Lucy as shown on baptism records for her and her brother William Robert. She attended Mankato teachers normal school. Lucy received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. from the university of California at Berkeley. She taught in Oakland and Berkeley, She died in Alameda Dec 14 1948; she never married. She is buried at LeMars Memorial cemetery, LeMars Iowa, Plymouth City in the McKnight family plot near her mother Pernisa.
