Charles H. Gray, 85, of 8225 Bob Hall Road, Lynden, died Friday in Bellingham.


He was born August 10, 1902, in Pittsburgh, PA, and came to Whatcom County with his parents, Charles and Ida Gray, in 1903.


Shortly after World War I, he served in the US Marine Corps.


He married Laura Bull in Bellingham on Feb 28, 1925.


He worked for many years as a crane operator at the old Bloedel-Donovan Mill in Bellingham and later was involved in farming and trucking.


Survivors include his wife, Laura, at home; three sons, Ronald Gray of Everson, Robert Gray of Lynnwood and Ralph Gray of Bellevue; two daughters, Marian Eaton of Yucaipa, Calif, and Betty Parsons of Baton Rouge, LA; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 3 pm Monday at the Gillies Funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Aldrich officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.


Visitation hours at Gillies are from 1 to 9 pm today and 9 am to 3 pm Monday.
