Bennie Lee Cunningham, owner of Cunningham's Barber Shop, died Friday, April 29, at his home. Memorial services were held Sunday, May 1 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rockwall where he was a member. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Dr. Davis Cecil, Dr. Robert Reeves and the Rev. Steve Stroope officiated. Mr. Cunningham was born March 5, 1912 in Honey Grove. Surviving are his wife Opal; two daughters, Martha Gentry of Paris and Cynthia Mauldin of Rowlett; six sisters, Thelma Hicks of Alvin, Catherine Clark of Leonard, Marie Allen of Paris, Frankie Lou Swick of Midland, Mary Whitbey of Houston and Betty Spadt of Houston and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Bill Cunningham. He was a charter member of the YMCA in Rockwall.
