Raphael F. Carbaugh, husband of Mrs. Loretta M. Mullen Carbaugh, 1107 W. Poplar St., York, died Sunday at 3:15 a.m. in Colonial Manor Nursing Home three days after his 69th birthday. Death was after a lingering illness.
Born in New Oxford, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary Carbaugh, and had been employed as a molder by the Eyster-Weiser Foundry prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus council of the parish.
Also surviving is a son, Gerald F. Carbaugh, Red Lion; two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine M. Know, Hanover and Mrs. R. Jacqueline Bork, Dover; five grandchildren, four brothers, Henry, Francis Jr., and Albert D. Carbaugh, all of New Oxford and Raymond Carbaugh, Wernersville, Pa., and five sisters, Mrs. Irene Rutter, New Oxford; Mrs. Edna Neiderer, McSherrystown; Sister Mary Romaine, Carlisle; Mrs. Richard Stevens and Mrs. Agnes Klunk, both of New Oxford.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the Charles E. Leber Funeral Parlors, York and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose Church. Rev. Edmund Campion, assistant pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery.
