Temperance Gilbert was born to William Gilbert and Anne Clere daughter of Sir Edmond Clere - They descend from Edward I, King of England per page 342 of "The Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants" by Gary Boyd Roberts. " Sources for edits are Magna Carta Ancestry, Royal Descents & Plantagenet History by Douglas Richardson. After her 1st husband, John Alsop, died in 1631 she married William Hopkins in 1633. She was a heir in her son's will in 1643 and her will was probated Nov 1648 as being overseas.
