Obituary:

BRIDGE CITY - Rosaries for Paul Abshire, 73, of 753 Avenue B in Bridge City, who died today at 1:10 a.m. in Doctors hospital after a short illness, will be recited today and Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Levingston Funeral home chapel in Groves. The Knights of Columbus and Legion of Mary from Bridge City will conduct the rosary Sunday.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Henry's Catholic church with the Rev. Joseph Dazio, of St. Henry's, officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Dale Calhoun of St. Pius Catholic church in Beaumont and the Rev. James Ingle of St. Anthony's Catholic church in Beaumont. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial park.

A native of Kaplin, La., Mr. Abshire was an operator at Ameripol in Port Neches. He had lived in the area for 50 years. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic churhc.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertha Abshire of Bridge City; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes White of Groves and Mrs. D.J. Palmer of Center, Tex; five sons, Abbie P. Abshire of Port Arthur, Charles Abshire of Houston, A.J. Abshire of Groves, Linwood Abshire of Port Neches, and Louis Abshire of Groves; three sisters, Mrs. E.J. Breaux of Port Arthur, Mrs. T. Morceaux of Gibson, La. and Mrs. L. LeBlanc of Nederland; two brothers, J.J. Abshire of Port Arthur and E.A. Abshire of Marrero, La., 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul White, Luther White, Jack Palmer, Kenneth Palmer, Gene Brown and Earl Keel.
