Paris, Ky., Feb. 13 - David Congrave Lisle, 70 years old, died unexpectedly this morning at his home on Link avenue.
Mr. Lisle, who was widely known in Bourbon, Scott and Clark counties, told his wife this morning when he arose that he did not feel well. Mrs. Lisle offered to make him a cup of coffee before he attempted to dress., but when she returned to the room he had expired.
Mr. Lisle was for a number of years editor of The Clark County Democrat, at Winchester, and later postmaster there. For a number of years he engaged in farming in Bourbon county, and for the last few years has lived here. He is a brother-in-law of James M. McClure.
Besides his widow, who was before her marriage Miss Minnie W. Winn, of Winchester, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. White Varden, of Paris; Mrs. William Senter, of Hazard; Captain N.W. Lisle, of Arizona; D.C. Lisle, Jr., and Claibourne Lisle, of Paris; one brother, Thomas Lisle, and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Hodgkin, both of Winchester.
Mr. Lisle Monday afternoon was a pallbearer at the funeral of W.P. Winn, of Winchester, who died while attending the funeral of Mrs. W.H. Stressman, in Winchester, last Friday.
The funeral will be held at the grave in the Paris cemetery, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. W.E. Wllis, pastor of the Paris Christian church, officiating. The pallbearers will be Harvey Lisle, Sam Hodgkin, Clay Hodgkin, Shields Bush, Rufus Lisle and James McClure, Jr.
