Pauline Beckham Ramsey passed away Sunday afternoon just 4 days before her 93rd birthday. She was born in Walnut Valley in 1921 to Garland and Ida Curtis Beckham, and it was there she met and married her husband Jess Ramsey in 1940. For the next thirty-eight years, Pauline would devote her life to being a homemaker and a mother to their ten children. A few years after Jess's death in 1988, she moved to Jasper and went into business with her daughter Jan, and together they operated the Mockingbird Inn Motel and Restaurant. Pauline was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church, Roadrunners EHC, and Friends of the Library. A year ago she founded the Jess and Pauline Ramsey Family Scholarship to be given to a graduating senior at Deer High School, the school from which she and all ten of her children graduated.

In addition to her parents and her husband Jess, Pauline was preceded in death by her brother Berry Beckham and brother-in-law Rex Bennett, three of her children: Jessalyn Davis, Sheri Strick, and Donald Ramsey as well as sons-in-law Melvin Davis and Robert Strick.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her children Janice Larson of Jasper; Pat and Bill Adams of Norfork; Judy and David Schenk of Jasper; Kathy and Terry Lord of Kansas City, MO; Carla and Ron Weeks of North Little Rock; Mike and Carol Ramsey of Keller, TX; Lisa and Carl Anderson of Texarkana, TX; daughter-in-law Kay Ramsey of Springdale; her sister Pebble Bennett of Harrison; sisters-in-law Opha Sparks of Harrison; Norma Ramsey of Independence, MO; and Thelma Beckham of Savannah, GA; along with 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; her church family and many friends.

Her children rise up and call her blessed. (Proverbs 31:28)

Funeral service will be 10 A.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Larry Acton and Bobby Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Swain Cemetery. Visitation from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
