"GALIEN – Raymond Hniman, 83, of Galien, died Friday afternoon, April 29, 2005, at Jordan;s Nursing Home in Bridgman. Mr. Hinman was born July 27, 1921, in Galien to Lee and Lydia Mae (Fulton) Hinman. He was a 1937 graduate of Galien High School, and on Aug. 2, 1945, he married Lenora Zebell in Three Oaks. Mrs. Hinman preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2004. Mr. Hinman served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a milkman by Peters/Scholl Dairy of Michigan City, Ind., before his retirement. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and horses. Mr. Hinman was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Three Oaks and the Roy Chilson American Legion Post 344, Galien. Survivors include his sons, Jerry Hinman of Three Oaks and David (Sue) Hinman of Three Rivers; grandchildren – Jason Hinman and his fiancée, Dawna Carney of Chicago, Kelly (Chad) Hinkley of Irvine, Calif., Jodie Hinman of Three Rivers and Matt (Danielle) Hinman of Three Rivers; his sister, Helen Chapman of Three Oaks; brothers, Rex (Jean) Hinman of Galien and Beryl (Myra) Hinman of Three Oaks; and his cousin, Bernadine Metzger of Galien. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn and Dean, and by his sister, Meryl Boltenhouse. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks. Interment will follow in the Galien Cemetery with the Roy Chilson American Legion Post 344, Galien, conducting Graveside Military Rites. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
