Ernest Russel "Ernie" Hollcraft, 87, died at 5:35 AM Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1999, in his Lafayette home, following three-years of failing health. Born at the family residence at Pop's Center, Tippecanoe County, on Nov. 27, 1911, he was a graduate of Wea High School, and a lifelong area resident. He married Arola J. (Patchett) Michael on September 12, 1942, at Crown Point; she survives.

Mr. Hollcraft retired in 1975 after working 35 years for Indiana Gas Co. as a measurement engineer. An avid bowler, he was a member of Lafayette Bowlers Hall of Fame.

Surviving with his wife are a son, John R. Hollcraft of Nashua, NH; two daughters, Jane M. Blair of Marion and Cheryl J. Skinner of Batavia, OH; a brother, Clarence W. Hollcraft of Lafayette; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson, James R. Blair; a sister, Susie Buckles; and a brother, Raymond Hollcraft.
