He was a graduate of Peirce Business College, 1885, and served in the National Guard. He received medicine and dentistry degrees from National University (now George Washington University). He was employed by the U.S. Pensions Bureau as medical examiner, etc., for 44 years (retiring in 1932 or 1933).
