Noah Eastman Thorn was born April 9, 1882 at Union, Iowa the son of Lemuel and Belle Brooks Thorn.

The family moved to Eagle Grove when he was a youngster, and he attended the Eagle Grove schools.

He was united in marriage to Lottie Belle Orr of Eagle Grove at Eagle Grove, and they continued to make their home in Eagle Grove.

Mr. and Mrs. Thorn became the parents of four children, two of whom survive. They are Roy Thorn, Eagle Grove and Mrs. Emma Johnston, Eagle Grove.

A son, John, and a daughter, Ione Lillibridge, had preceded him in death.

Mrs. Thorn died in 1938, and after her death Noah moved to the area near Truman and Mapleton, Minn. to make his home. He returned to Eagle Grove in recent years to make his home, and in October 1968 he entered Mercy Hospital at Ft. Dodge where he passed away on July 15. At the time of his death, he was 87 years, 3 months, and 6 days of age.

Mr. Thorn had been an elevator employee throughout most of his working years.

In addition to his two children, he is survived by three brothers, Otis Thorn. Eagle Grove, Walter Thorn, Eagle Grove, Harold Thorn, Tucson, Ariz., seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

His wife, one daughter, one son, one sister and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Friday July 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Rev. Arthur W. Anderson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.
