Ipswich --- The funeral for Lillian Rieger, 92, of Ipswich will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spitzer-Osthus Funeral Home, 320 Sixth Ave. S.E., Aberdeen. The Rev. James E. Clarke will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of the service.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare in Ipswich.
Lillian Sieler was born Feb. 26, 1909, to Adam and Elisabeth (Klingman) Sieler in Mound City. This is the area where she grew up and attended school.
She married John Rieger on Oct. 24, 1929, in Mound City. They farmed near Bowdle until 1934, when they moved to Mountain, N.D. In 1944, they moved to Aberdeen. He died March 31, 1978, in Aberdeen.
She entered Beverly Healthcare in Ipswich in 1989.
She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include three sons, Edmond (Vera) Rieger and Raymond Rieger, both of Aberdeen, and Ruben Rieger of Sioux Falls; one daughter, Arlene (Frank) Fryer of Sioux Falls; one brother, Ludwig Sieler of Mobridge; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter in infancy, six sisters and three brothers.
