The funeral service for James Leo Callahan will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. Father James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in
the St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
James died on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at his home in Albert Lea, MN.
He was 77 years old.
James was born in Twin Lakes, Minnesota on August 9, 1931, the son of Leonard and Rachel (Gavle) Callahan. He attended country school in Freeborn Co. and has been a resident of Albert Lea all his life. He was married to Beverly Haugrud on July 29, 1950.
James is a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church.
He worked for Queen Stove for over 40 years. James was a member of the Eagles Club in Albert Lea.
James enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, and Major League Sports especially The Vikings and The Twins. He was very kind hearted and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
