Herald Coaster, September 17, 1986:

Funeral services for Newell Finch, Sr., 84, of Rosenberg, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg. The Rev. Jack Allbright will officiate, with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Finch died Tuesday at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and of Masonic Rosenberg Lodge No. 881.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Finch, of Rosenberg; two sons, Newell Finch, Jr. of Rosenberg and William Edward Finch of California; three sisters, Lucy Murphy of Houston, and Opal Littlejohn and Norma Vaughan of Hubbard; a brother, Woodrow Finch of Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Rosenberg. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimers Association.

Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors in Rosenberg.
