Mary was the first born child of Rosine (of Germany) and Joseph Patrone (of Italy), she was possibly born near Empire.

At the time of the 1880 Census she had attended school within the year.

She was married to William Bowman about 1886 and they had at least six children. (Rose, Jennie, John, Annie, William, and Martin.) The family can be found in Tulare, San Joaquin County, California in the 1900 Census.

Originally Mary was buried at Stockton Rural Cemetery, but her remains were removed on November 6, 1922 and moved to Park View Cemetery.
