Mr. Pannell was born in Sylacauga, Alabama, August 10, 1917, he spent most of his adult life fulfilling his engineering profession with BoWater Paper Company in Tennessee. Sylacauga, Alabama is where he grew up, returning there after he retired. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Sylacauga.
After the passing of his dear wife, Dula Todd Pannell, in 1997, he moved to Pensacola, Florida where he resided until his death.
Mr Pannell was an Army engineer in World War II and a lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 33 in Pensacola, and a Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge.
He was a wonderful Christian family man and a great steward of his physical and material blessings.
Mr Pannell was preceded in death by his wife, Dula Todd Pannell; his son, Arthur Randall Pannell; and his brother, Ralph Eugene Pannell.
He is survived by two son, Robert Grant Pannell, JR (Sue) of Waleska, Georgia, and Gerald Wayne Pannell(Judi) of Milton, Florida; two sisters, Mary Lecil Garrett of Pensacola, Florida; and Jerry Sue Thomsen Fatzinger (Carl) of Lake City, Florida; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
