Newell - Mary L. Jones, 84, of Newell, passed away, Sunday, June 1, 2014. Born June 21, 1929, in Beaver County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Vernard and Lottie (Allison) Halstead. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Jones; five brothers, John, Red, Buck, Buddy, and Charles Halstead; and five sisters, Grace Campbell, Isabell St. Clair, Alice Jones, Shirley Adkins and Fay Halstead. Mary was a member of the Glendale Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are three daughters, Margaret (Don) Collins, Lottie (Dave) Barron and Marsha Webber of Newell; a son, Tom (Debra) Jones of Newell; six grandsons, Tommy Heath, Troy Barron, Andy Jones, Jason Jones, Scott Barron and Jackson Webber; nine great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dalton, Payton, Siara, A.J., Chayce, Sophia, Tristan, and Noah; a brother, Tom (Jackie) Halstead of Illinois; and a sister, Thelma Grey of East Liverpool. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 3, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Burial will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell.
