LAURA S. POWELL N. MYRTLE BEACH -- Laura Staton Powell, 69, died at her home on Monday, May 26, 2014. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum of Florence Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow in the gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service at the Mausoleum. Mrs. Powell was born in Texas, the daughter of Ruth Lictenhaler Staton and the late Troy Staton. Surviving are a son, James U. "Jamie" Powell and his wife, Nga of Florence; a brother, Troy Staton; two sisters, Nancy Jackson and Alice Garner and her grandson Jason Powell. Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto St. Florence is assisting the family with arrangements
