Mr. Louis Edwin Hatcher, born May 16, 1894 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Nancy Jane Wilson Hatcher at Chestnut Level, Belmont, OH, passed from this life suddenly on Tuesday, February 23, 1960 at his home in Barnesville, OH. Mr. Hatcher had just moved to Barnesville just two weeks prior.

Funeral services were conducted for him at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 26, 1960 at Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home of Bethesda, Ohio. Conducting the service for the family was Reverend Francis Smith with burial following at the Chestnut Level Cemetery, near Belmont, OH.

Louis had worked for the Paul Perkins Construction Company in Bethesda, OH for many years and could be seen running dozer and other equipment throughout the area on a regular basis.

Other than his parents, preceding him in death was his wife Mildred Viola White Hatcher in June 1946. Surviving are daughters; Dorothy Wesley of Hendrysburg, Miss Margaret Jane attending nursing school in Martins Ferry, MaryJo and Shirley "Toni" of the St. Clairsville, OH area; four sons Kenneth Earl of Stockton, Calif, Richard Leon of Hendrysburg, Kerry Louis "Butch" of Bethesda, and Garry of Duluth, Minn; 16 grandchildren, six sisters; Mrs. Foresta Powell of Belleville, Mrs. Ethel Moore of Belmont RFD, Mrs. Mary Moore, St. Clairsville, Mrs. Nellie Barnes of Canton, and Mrs. Bessie Shepherd of Bethesda, and one brother Luther of Des Moines, Iowa.
