Wayne - Services for George Theo Johnston, 89, Winside, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Schumacher-McBride-Wiltse Funeral Home, Lincoln Street, in Wayne. The Rev. Don Nunnally will officiate with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Norfolk.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The son of Joseph and Pearl (Brown) Johnston was born May 13, 1902, at Hatfield, Mo. and died Monday at the Wayne Care Center.
He was married to Myrtle Wooden Jan. 8, 1921, at Hatfield. They farmed for two years near Hatfield and then near Winside, retiring in 1965.
Survivors include sons, Roy of Newnata, Ark., and Robert of Broken Bow; daughter, Mrs. Russell (Leona) Stephens of Cairo; sister, Oma Tull of Hatfield; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 1978, one brother and one sister.
