It appears that Matilda died shortly after they were married in 1879. I suspect she probably died in childbirth, but have no proof. St. Peter's burial records do not begin until 1896, so there is no burial record for Matilda McGreevy Cullen. The Herald newspaper did not begin publication until 1884 and copies do not survive until 1888, so I could not find an obituary for Matilda. There is no death record at Maryland Archives as their death records do not begin until 1898. There was also no record at West Virginia Archives, Fredlock's, Eichhorn's nor Boal's Funeral Homes. Therefore, place and date of death are assumed. It is likely that she is buried at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Westernport as the family were members of St. Peter's and Matilda and Timothy were married there.
