Dr. Samuel Robinson Fife was a son of Andrew and Sarah (Robinson) Fife of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. His siblings were: John, Margaret, Martha, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, Samuel, Clarissa, Matthew and Noah.
Samuel receive his early education in Allegheny and Washington county schools and his medical education at Cleveland, Ohio Medical School from which he graduated in 1862. Dr. Fife practiced allopathic medicine serving the Monongahela valley area of Pennsylvania.
In June of 1863, he married Amanda Linn, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Clark) Linn of West Newton, Pennsylvania. They had six children: Mabel, George, Lizzie, Grace, Ollie and James.
He died at age 81 years, 5 mo., and 12 ds.
