Norman "Jake" Ball 89, died Saturday morning, November 4, 2006 at his home in Indianapolis. A long battle with cancer and recent heart complications led to his death. Norm was a genuine WWII hero, having earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster while engaging the World's enemy in France. Norm was a Food Broker for several Indianapolis Grocery Stores. Late in life, Norm found satisfaction in knowing Jesus Christ as his Savior and promise of new life. This faith gave him hope, as he knew he was nearing physical death. Norm is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred (Smith) Ball; son, Donald Ball; daughter, Nancy Reum; brother, Robert Ball; grandchildren, Andy Reum and Courtney Ball; as well as four great-grandchildren, Andy, Dallas, Ethan and Grace. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2006 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the funeral center. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens
