EAST PRAIRIE-Ernest Alfred Allen, 80, a retired farmer, died at 10 a.m. Monday, at a Farmington hospital following an extended illness.
Born March 22, 1894 in Mississippi County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Allen and had lived in Mississippi County all of his life. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
On Sept 10, 1950. he married Ruby A Griffin, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jerry Lynn Allen of the home; one sister, Miss Maggie Allen of East Prairie; and one grandson. A son and a brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Herbert Bruhn. pastor of First Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.
