"Death of Henry VanBuren
The remains of Henry VanBuren, who died at East Toledo, Ohio yesterday morning, were brought here this morning for burial. Deceased was the father of John VanBuren of Ford Street, and was 74 years old. Mr VanBuren was born in Schodack, Rensselaer County and came to Ballston in early manhood, engaging in farming and lumbering, at the place now owned by Morris Dower, continuing there for a period of thirty-five years, when with those of his family who had not yet begun business for themselves, he removed to the place of his death. While in this locality, he was distinguished for energy in business and the warmth of his friendship. He was a member of the congregation of the Baptist Church. Mr VanBuren was an inflexible Republican, though dabbling little in politics and never asking office. Notwithstanding the early hour of his burial (7:30a.m.) there was not only a large mourning circle, composed of such of his children as could be got together, with many of this friends of the olden time were present."

"Death of Henry VanBuren
Last Saturday, John VanBuren,of this village received a telegram from East Toledo, Ohio, saying that his father, Henry VanBuren, had died at his home there, and that his remains would be brought to Ballston for interment.
Henry VanBuren, familiarly known to his old friends as Matty VanBuren, was born in Schodack, Rensselaer county December 16, 1813, moved into the town of Ballston at the age of 27, and was a resident for 35 years. He was one of the most active businessmen of the town, and a man who had the respect and confidence of all with whom he was associated. Twelve years ago he changed his residence to East Toledo, Ohio. In March and April last he made his first visit to Ballston since he had changed his residence and spent a happy two months with his children and old friends in this vicinity. When he left for his Western home he looked and felt as thought he had renewed his age. But shortly after his arrival at his home he had a short illness from which he fully recovered. About four weeks ago he was again prostrated and sank rapidly until his death which occurred Saturday morning. He was many years a member of the Baptist church of Ballston Spa."
