Mrs. Clarence R. Mixon, 81, native of the Sardis Community and a resident of Shreveport for the past seven years, died at Nurses Care Center in Shreveport, Saturday, November 13, 1971, after a long illness.

Funeral rites were conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in Wellman's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James W. Taylor, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Johnny Baker of Saline. Interment was in Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport.

The former Edna Shelton, Mrs. Mixon was a member of the Highland Baptist Church and was a teacher in the Winn Parish school system for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence R. Mixon, one daughter, Mrs. J. Calvin Bains of Shreveport, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Mixon and David Mixon of Winnfield attended the last rites.
