Ms. Alice Yvonne Fortson Halfacre, 73, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 5 days.
She was born, Monday, February 24, 1941, in Oil Trough, Ark., and had lived in Jonesboro for the past 7 years and was formerly of Trumann.
She was a retired employee of the Parker Hannifin Corp. and of the Assembly of God faith.
Ms. Halfacre was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and her parents, Robert Allen and Sarah Oleva Shirrell Kirkland.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Lynn (Darryl) Fortson Howerton of Jonesboro; one son, James Randall (Ava) Fortson of Jonesboro; five sisters, Annie Timms of Missouri, Patricia (Jim) Bishop, Betty Bishop, Nancy Kirkland and Angela Floyd; six brothers, Dean Kirkland of Jena, La., Ronald (Brenda) Kirkland of Columbus, La., Robert (Debbie) Kirkland of Ripley, Tenn. and Donald (Sandy) Kirkland of Cleveland, Miss., Tommy (Vicky) Kirkland, Timmy (Mary Anne) Kirkland; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Friendship Assembly of God Church, in Jonesboro, Ark. Graveside services were in the Marcella Cemetery in Marcella, Ark.
