Mr. Kyger served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a section hand, section foreman, and supervisor for the Monon and L&M Railroad, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed wood working and gardening.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Russell (wife Jean) Kyger of Edna Mills, IN, Phillip (wife Youjin) Kyger of Seoul, Korea, Stanley (wife Sue) Kyger of Dayton, IN; a daughter, Sara Garten of Avon, IN; two sisters Alice Starns of Crawfordsville, IN, and Lucille Biava of Danville, IL; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded by brothers Walter, Frank, Robert, Fred and James Kyger and a sister Bernice Smith.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday November 24, 2006 with the service at 10 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006, with Barry Barkley and Randy Satterfield officiating at Hippensteel Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
