Charles William "Charlie" Binkley was born on February 10, 1924 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the son of Emanuel Binkley and Ella (Davenport) Binkley.
A life-long member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, he served as a SEABEE in the US Navy during World War II.
He was a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and was retired from the Clarksville Police Department where he was head of the Juvenile Section of the Detective Division.
He was a founding member of the East Montgomery Trail Riders Club, was an avid horseman, loved his family, friends, and he lived life to the fullest.
Charlie was 90 years old and a resident of Clarksville when he passed away on April 22, 2014 at Fieldstone Place.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sheila Louise Binkley; brothers Emanuel Binkley Jr and Randolph Binkley; sister Mildred (Binkley) Richmond; and by his great-grandson Dillon Binkley.
Survivors include two sons; two married brothers; two sisters and a brother-in-law; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, as well as a large number of close friends.
Funeral Services were held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Clarksville, with burial in Sango Cemetery.
