Jake Kammerer, 89, 209 S. Seventh, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1993, at home.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jody Hilliard officiating. Burial will be Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Mr. Kammerer was born Feb. 21, 1903, in Hosmer, S.D., to Gottlieb and Magdalenia Kammerer. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He worked for Halliburton for 24 years, retiring from the truck ship Aug. 31, 1967. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a former member of the American Legion and was active in Boy Scouts of America. On April 24, 1942 he married Jennie Rehm in Bisbee, Ariz.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law. Jacob and Linda Kammerer of Overland Park, Kan., and Bobby and Gayle Kammerer of Duncan; a sister, Maggie Babitzke of Canadian, Texas; and two grandchildren, Nik of Duncan and Natalie Anne of Stillwater.
Bearers will be Allan Dawson, Joe Pollard, Carroll Johnston, Audrey Lyons, Emet Walker, Sam Hawkins and Dale Williams.
