Edith Idonia Foster, 96, of Delaware passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home in Delaware. She was born March 7, 1918 in Ponca City to Oscar Clarence and Mary Edna (Dixon) Fortney. She graduated Valedictorian, Nelogny High School Class of 1935. On May 27, 1939 she married the love of her life, Lynn Calvin Foster, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They moved to Delaware in 1955, where they raised their children. She was an excellent cook, and loved to garden and care for her flowers. Edith enjoyed taking care of the animals around the farm. She would rise early every morning, exercise, and read her bible before starting her day cooking and caring for her children. Edith was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family has so many treasured memories of her and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Edith is survived by eight children, Winnie and husband Wesley Anderson of Arlington, TX, Linda and husband Gerry Travis of Delaware, Roy Lynn Foster of Collinsville, Donna Foster of Nowata, Jimmie Foster and wife Rehta of Meridian, Idaho, LaDeana and husband Larry Johnston of Nowata, Stanley Foster of the home and Elaina Morrison of the home; three brothers, Fred Fortney, Alvin Fortney, Lonnie Fortney, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mary Fortney; her husband Lynn Calvin Foster; two daughters, Betty Sue Foster, LaVonna Foster; a grandson, Colt Foster; a son in law, Bret Morrison; eight siblings, Ruth Campbell, Pearl Mosler, Martha Paige, Goldie Stierwalt, Elvina Martin, Mary Askrens, Albert Fortney, Ethel Warehime.
