Pfc. Leslie Boyle served with the 27th Division of the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII, where he fought in the battle of Makin and participated in the invasion of Saipan.
For his service to country the following medals were awarded: Four Overseas Service Bars, 27th Division patch, Expert Marksmanship badge (Machine Gun & Pistol), Pacific Ocean Area patch, Sharp Shooter Badge, Marksmanship badge (Rifle), Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star (BMS), Purple Heart, Good Conduct medal, American Defense Service medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal (w/two bronze star device), and WWII Victory medal. He had enlisted on November 13, 1942 and served until October 29, 1945.
