Born on December 22, 1920 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph C. & Marjorie E. (Clarke) Johnston.
He was married to Kathleen F. (Liedl) Johnston. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1968.
Ralph was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II aboard the DM31 J. William Ditter.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and loved to read the newspaper & watch the news, especially news involving politics.
He is survived by 2 sons (Ralph R. Johnston, Jr. and Stephen E. Johnston, both of DuBois, PA) a daughter (Mary R. Myers and her husband William of Hughesville, PA) a brother (Jack Johnston of Punxsutawney, PA) and 2 grandchildren (Ross M. & Jill L. Myers).
He was preceded in death by a sister (Jane Dequinze) & 5 brothers (James, Seth, Harry, George, & Earl Johnston)
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 9 to 11 a.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor's choice.
