Corky was born January 2, 1912 in Roberts, Idaho, the first son of Carey Huston Carskadon Sr and Emma Rose Maas.
As a young man in Idaho he worked on an oil rig and as a farm laborer. Relatively late in life (his 30's) he married Ruth Eliza Joy, and they lived in Portola, California for many years.
After Ruth's death in a car accident in 1970, Corky remained in Portola, and died there January 23, 1987. He was survived by one brother and several sisters.
