Dwight David Childers, 45, of Scott Depot died June 1, 1999, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, of cancer. He was an employee of the Putnam County Board of Education with 25 years' service, serving as principal at Scott Teays Elementary School for 17 years. He was a graduate of Morris Harvey College and the West Virginia University College of Graduate Studies. He was a member of the Putnam County Principal's Association and Phi Delta Kappa and the recipient of several awards and commendations, including the Phi Delta Kappa Outstanding Administrator Award. Surviving: wife, Deborah; daughter, Andrea Childers at home; sons, Christopher, Ryan and Brandon, all at home; mother, Inez Childers-Grady of Winfield; brother, Keigh of Scott Depot.
