Born December 13, 1983 in South Charleston, he was the youngest son of Deborah J. Childers and the late Dwight David Childers. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Betty Doss, Leonard Childers and Inez Childers-Grady as well as his uncle, L. Keith Childers.
As a youngster, Brandon was very energetic, funny and quite the daredevil. Whether he was jumping from a diving board (before he could even swim) to skiing the most treacherous slopes, he loved the adrenalin rush of the thrill. In his later years, Brandon fought an internal battle that hampered his happy and good heart. Although those years were lived with more than anyones fair share of poor choices and the consequences that come with them, Brandon will be remembered as a determined young man who worked hard and gave his all.
In addition to his mother, Brandon is survived by his sons, Tyler David Childers and Jared Michael Childers of Hurricane; their mother, Daphne Lambert Childers of Hurricane; his brothers, Christopher Childers (Maria) of Poca, Ryan Childers (Melissa) of Scott Depot; his sister, Andrea Deel (Chris) of Scott Depot; nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane with Dr. John D. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday at the funeral home. You may also share memories of Brandon by visiting his tribute page at ChapmanFuneralHomes.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 3926 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526.
