Arlie Allen, was born on February 14, 1921 in Jefferson County.

He died at Rhea medical Center in Dayton, TN on January 16, 2017.

He has lived in Dayton for the past 6 ½ years moving there from Newport and lived with his daughter and son-in-law.

He was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church. He retired from Bush Brothers & Company in Chestnut Hills after 50 years of service. He was a member of the Ruritan Club for many years, being named Ruritan of the year; member of the Shriners for 55 years, member of the Masons for 62 years, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie T. Allen; daughter, Vonda Allen; grandson Jason Gibson; wife Betty N. Allen; stepson Tony Nichols; sisters Gertrude Sutton and Clara Allen; brothers, Grady Allen, Creed Allen, Noah Allen and Frank Allen.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 -7:30 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017, with Masonic service following at 7:45 pm in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel, followed by funeral service at 8:00 pm, with Rev. John Clark, and Jamie Roberts officiating. Burial will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Also Military Honors.
