Reuben L. Buhrman, 132 West North street, dropped dead in Frick Co. shops this morning at 7 o'clock from heart failure. He had not been very well for three weeks past, but when he left home at 6:30 o'clock this morning for work he seemed to be no worse than he had been lately, so that his sudden death was entirely unexpected.
Mr. Buhrman is survived by his wife, who was Miss Ella Rodgers of Rouzerville and six children; Mrs. Leslie Rinehart, east of town; Miss R. Buhrman and Mrs. Ira L. Deardorff, Garfield street; Norman A., Lancaster; Miss Phyllis, Baltimore; Raymond R., Brooklyn, New York; sister, Mrs. Martha Fox, Hagerstown.
The deceased was the son of Daniel and Mary (Lantz) Buhrman and was born and reared, near Foxville, Frederick county, Maryland. He had been a resident of Waynesboro for 47 years and and employe of Frick Co. in the machine department for all of that time and was never off the payroll, a record rarely equaled in the history of the company. He was always faithful to duty of every kind.
Mr. Buhrman was a member of the Methodist church for forty years and also a member of the Fraternal-Aid-Union, (formerly the Order of Heptosopha), the Junior Order United American Mechanics and the Patriotic 0rder Sons of America. He was upright in character and a good citizen, and his sudden death came as a great shock to many friends in this community.
The funeral will be held Friday morning with service at the house at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in Burns Hill cemetery.
The body may be viewed Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
