NEESES - Norman E. Fogle, 79, of Neeses passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Calvary Baptist Church, Neeses, with Rev. Benjamin Smoak and Rev. William Jacques officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Norman was born in rural Orangeburg County, a son of the late Anthony and Lila Flake Fogle. He was a prominent local attorney and had served as First Circuit Solicitor until his medical retirement in 1983. He was a devoted church leader of Calvary Baptist Church and a faithful community servant. He also served in the U.S. Army and was an avid USC supporter.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Alice Caughman Fogle; one daughter, Alice Yvonne Shecut (Bo); two sons, Gene Fogle (Maritza) and Rick Fogle; three grandsons, Blake Cooper (Casey), Seth Cooper and Kyle Shecut; four brothers, John Anthony "Tony" Fogle (Margaret), Bryan Fogle (Dolly), Carol "T" Fogle (Patsy), and Robert "Bobby" Fogle (Frances). He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Port, and two brothers, Henry Fogle and Carlisle Fogle.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) and other times at the home, 560 Calvary Church Road, Neeses, SC.
