Passed Away Yesterday After Illness From Blood Poisoning.

Goldsboro. N. C., May 18. The death of Mrs. Lulie Borden Davis, wife of Col. A. C. Davis, of this city, and daughter of Mr. E. B. Borden, occurred at their home here this morning at 2:30 o'clock after a brief illness of blood poisoning, incident to an attack of facial erysipelas, which befell her only last Thursday and which from incipiency baffled the skill of physicians, who early realized its fatal nature and prepared the family as best they could to expect the worst, while leaving no effort untried to arrest and eliminate the insidious poison. To her sorrowing loved ones, husband, children, father, sisters and brothers, who surrounded her bed side in the passing hour, she spoke to each in turn, words of comfort, of love and of hope counseling them as she knew their need and then folding her hands upon her breast, her last words were, "Jesus, Lover of my Soul, let me to thv bosom fly." And with this prayer upon her lips, "they looked upon her face and death was there" Mrs. Davis Is survived by her heartbroken husband, four children, two sons and two daughters, Miss Annie Lee, Adam C. Jr., Miss Georgia L. and Mr. E. B. Borden, her venerable father, four sisters, Mrs. M. L.Lee, Misses Mary, Mabel and Elizabeth Borden, and five brothers, Messrs. F. K., John L., E. B. Jr., Murray and Paul Borden, besides a wide circle of very near and beloved relatives.
