BURIED AT GOLDSBORO

Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon for Prominent and Beloved Woman


Goldsboro, Aug. 14.-The funeral of Mrs. Annie Borden Lee, 76, well beloved woman and member of a prominent Goldsboro family, was held from the home on South George street this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. The services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. V. MacRae, pastor of St. Paul Methodist church, of which she was a loyal and devoted member. Mr. MacRae was assisted by Rev. Peter Mentire, pastor of the Presbyterian church, Interment was in Willow Dale cemetery where the hymn, "Abide With Me" was sung by a male quartet. She was buried by the side of her husband M. L. Lee, who died in January, 1926. The pallbearers were Frank B. Daniels, George Daniels, Dr. R. B. Miller, H. F. Lee, A. H. Edgerton, Keunon Borden, Edwin Borden and Borden Davis.'


Mrs. Lee before marriage was Miss Annie Borden, daughter of the late E. B. and Georgia Whitfield Borden.

She is aurvived by two children. Edwin Lee and Mrs. George Bynum several grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Frank John, Ed and Paul Borden; Mrs Frank B. Daniels, Mrs. W. E. Stroud and Mrs. Jack Broadhurst, the latter of Smithfold. Her stepmother, Mrs. Ellen Borden still survives.
